The 39th HSJ Awards culminated in a celebration of healthcare excellence at Battersea Evolution in London with over 1600 healthcare professionals in attendance. From NHS leaders to front-line staff, this year's finalists and winners are a source of inspiration within the NHS as you continue to innovate and improve service provision.
HSJ editor, Alastair McLellan, said “As we enter the heat of the general election campaign the NHS will battle with Brexit for top billing. Governments tend to arrive committed to fighting the last battle rather than the present one and my hope is that those politicians who truly value the NHS’s wellbeing will study the work of our award winners and therefore learn what success really looks like in the NHS. Success that is built on long-term commitment, not short-term promises; that rely on collaboration and compromise and that are built on what individual patients want, not what others think they must have. Congratulations to all our winners."

"How overjoyed I was to be a part of such a programme and elated to have won, I don’t believe I stopped crying for the rest of the evening. I would be extremely grateful if you could send my appreciation to the judges."
The HSJ Awards have been celebrating healthcare excellence for 39 years through huge political, technological and financial challenges within the sector.
Through a rigorous, fair and transparent judging process the awards produce a roll call of the best organisations, teams and people in the NHS and the wider health sector.
